Responsibilities: We are seeking an individual to be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on our trucks, trailers, and tankers. Individual will u se hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists; and will be responsible for inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition . Individual will also perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery; adjust and reline brakes, align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment raise trucks, trailers, and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists; and test drive trucks and trailers to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.

The selected candidate will i nspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges; examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices? and inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications. Other responsibilities include a ttaching test instruments to equipment, and reading dials and gauges in order to diagnose malfunctions; rewiring of ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels; reconditioning and replacing parts, pistons, bearings, gears, and valves; and repairing and adjusting seats, doors, and windows, and install and repair accessories. Individual will i nspect, repair, and maintain automotive and mechanical equipment and machinery such as pumps and compressors; disassemble and overhaul internal combustion engines, pumps, generators, transmissions, clutches, and differential units; rebuild gas and/or diesel engines; align front ends and suspension systems; and operate valve-grinding machines to grind and reset valves.

Qualifications: The selected candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations; a minimum of three (3) years of truck repair experience are required. Auto Service Excellence certification (ASE) is desirable. The selected candidates must have own tools. The ability to work in confined spaces; to exert physical effort daily; to wear a full-face respirator at all times; and to wear all levels of protective clothing, are required. The ability to work occasional overtime and emergency response; and to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen (urine and hair), and background check, are required. Possession of a CDL Class A license is highly desirable.
