PHARM INV CNTRL CLERK

Coordinates pharmaceutical recieving. Liasion for distribution of floorstock requisitions. Ongoing monitoring and
assurance via cycle counts and tracking inventory trends. Access the storage location and organize to facilitate
ease of removal for pharmacy staff. Timely reciept of recieving and removal of requistions to ensure timely data
entry and accurate accessment of inventory levels. Escalate inventory issues to purchasing coordinator.
- 1. Follows established procedures for accurate distribution of pharmaceutical supplies requested
by intra and inter-departmental users. Picks and fills supplies requisitioned by user areas
from the pharmacy cage and storage areas. Accurately documents quantities issued and
notes outages and shortages. Tracks incomplete orders and completes order once supplies
are available. Maintains established par levels for TPN solutions
- 2. Follows established procedures to accurately receive shipments of pharmaceuticals and
supplies used throughout the pharmacy. Physically inspects all items reconciling invoice with
actual order. Right drug, right strength, right quantity, 6 months exp. date dating and in good
condition. Provides Purchasing Coordinator with accurate documentation of receipts
including over shipments, shorts, and mispicks. Physically inspects all storeroom orders for
accuracy, completeness and condition of supplies.
- 3. Maintains storage areas for drugs and supplies in an orderly fashion. All drugs and supplies
received will be accurately stored in designated areas by the end of each business day. All
storage bins and shelves will be accurately labeled with item descriptions, item number and
unit of issuance.
- 4. Performs inventory duties necessary to maintain the accuracy of the perpetual inventory of
drug supplies. Physically counts items daily reconciling physical inventory with
inventory tracking system
EDUCATION (number of years and type required to perform the position duties):
Requires high school graduation or equivalent
Related experience in inventory management and hospital pharmacy
Current Pharmacy Technician Registration with State of Connecticut or eligibility
Excellent communication skills, and ability to train other employees
