The Portfolio Expeditor is responsible for the processing and procurement of requests for routine supplies and services, learning and performing basic analytical reporting and contracting functions. The ability to change priorities dependent upon organizational need is a necessity. Although the individual will directly report into one functional track (see note in Informational section below), the Expeditor will be responsible for assignments within all Supply Chain functions.

Responsibilities
  • 1. Ability to function effectively in a team environment working towards defined Supply Chain goals.
  • 2. Willingness to learn and perform basic analytical reporting.
  • 3. Demonstrates effective communication skills with staff, vendors and visitors by answering telephone and providing and/or obtaining complete information. Answers incoming purchasing calls and utilizes appropriate written communication with customers (i.e. e-mail).
  • 4. Purchases routine supplies and services based on existing Health System contracts and according to guidelines for cost, quality and delivery.
  • 5. Processes all supply and service purchase requests to meet time frames for ordering department or project.
  • 6. Informs ordering department of any problems or changes related to the requisitions.
  • 7. Assists in product sourcing for back orders or discontinued product
  • 8. Updates MMIS System for confirmations and vendor master information as necessary.
  • 9. Processes returns to vendors for authorization and receives proper credit or reimbursement as indicated by documentation. Expedites returns within 24 hours and enters information in MMIS.
  • 10. Resolves buyer messages and other transactional discrepancies related to pricing, unit of measure and quantity.
  • Qualifications EDUCATION

    High School Diploma required. Pursuing college degree preferred

    EXPERIENCE

    This is an entry-level position. Relevant experience will be considered, but not required.

    SPECIAL SKILLS

    Good verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate effectively. Good data entry skills, good in mathematics and good organizational skills. Familiarity with Word, Excel and Internet search engines, with demonstrated ability to learn new systems. Lawson experience a plus.
