3M is seeking a Component Development Resource Manager for the Health Information Systems Division located in Wallingford, CT.

Job Summary/Visionary statement:

The person hired for the position of Component Development Resource Manager will supervise a cross functional team of Software Engineers, Scrum Masters and Quality Analyst responsible for the design and development of Clinical and Economic Research patient classification component to support Product Owner's deliverable commitments are met on time and with a high quality. Communicate scrum principles throughout the organization and consistently implement all aspects of Scrum across the department of scrum teams.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

* Provide direct technical supervision to assigned staff, which includes hiring, establishing and tracking goals and objectives, assigning workload, training, and facilitating the performance review process

* Create an atmosphere of innovation, new R&D cultures and enable professional growth

* Must be comfortable in fast paced agile environment with challenging deadlines, and be able to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities

* Responsible to mentor development staff with duties such as analysis, software design, prototyping, coding, debugging, test case creation, automation and testing, documentation, support, maintenance, managing component releases and updates

* Participate on cross-functional teams, coordinate and communicate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Business Leaders, Software Engineers and Quality Analyst

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university

* Minimum of five (5) years of software development experience

* Minimum of three (3) years of supervisor experience

* Minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated experience using Agile software development methodology

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Science or related discipline, a Master's degree is a plus

* Certification in Agile Scrum Master or Product Owner role

* Solid understanding of multi-tier application design and development

* Minimum of 2 years of software development experience with object oriented programming (i.e. C#, Java, C++)

* Minimum of 2 years' experience with relational database development (i.e. Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle)

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must

* Experience leading a development team during the design and architecture phase is a must

* Ability to meet timelines set in project plans and produce a high quality product

* Ability to take individual initiative and responsibility for assignments

* Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities

* Ability to quickly learn and apply new tools and technology

* Ability to effectively communicate ideas and information to other individuals and team

* Leads by example and willing to pitch in to help team members if necessary

* Nurtures the development of staff both professionally and interpersonally

Location: Wallingford, CT

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic

Relocation: Is not authorized
