Provide leadership, and strategic direction for Waterbury Hospital and Prospect Integrated Behavioral Health (PIBH-WH) services. The individual will assist in driving clinical and operational excellence as it relates to meeting inpatient, behavioral health emergency department (BHED), and outpatient performance targets as well as operationalizing new integrated behavioral health and medical service offerings. This individual will report to the Regional Vice President, PIBH East and the Chief Medical Officer of Waterbury Hospital. The individual will work closely with the Vice President of Nursing, PIBH CEO, and CEO of Waterbury Hospital. The Inpatient Director of Behavioral Health and the Director of Behavioral Health Outpatient will report directly to this individual. This individual will work closely with the Regional Vice President of PIBH, East and the Chief of Medicine to enhance community, state, and provider partnerships on behalf of Waterbury Hospital., ?? Promote an environment of trust and openness throughout the Waterbury behavioral health and PIBH-WH system, and in daily interactions with internal and external executives, providers/physicians, patients and staff. ?? Develops PIBH-WH goals and objectives, and establishes and implements policies and procedures for department operation. ?? Responsible for overall BH service delivery planning and programmatic oversight throughout the Waterbury Hospital system as directed by the PIBH CEO, Regional VP of PIBH, East, and CEO. ?? Assesses overall clinical needs, identifies priorities, and initiates and/or contributes to the development of new programs within for all aspects of Behavioral Health. ?? Assesses and critiques clinical care to determine compliance with evidence-based practice in order to achieve health care objectives, to ensure care that is scientifically competent and current, and to maintain highly qualified clinical and administrative staff with appropriate skill sets. ?? Accountable for the financial performance of all PIBH-WH programs. ?? Responsible for the recruitment and hiring of qualified and competent clinicians and Managers ?? Reviews and maintain a budgetary structure that meets operational and clinical needs. ?? Responsible for initiating, developing, communicating, interpreting, and ensuring compliance with the division's policies, procedures, and all applicable institutional, regulatory, local, state, and federal laws and regulations to maximize utilization and stability of behavioral health. ?? Assist with integration of BH outpatient services across system and in support of IPA offices ?? Provide leadership, management; direct and develop team members by providing guidance, feedback, support, and performance management within union and non-union environment. ?? Patient Safety -- Contribute to the development of collaborative partnerships among patients, families, volunteers, and caregivers to support caring, safe, and effective care. Proactive in identifying, reporting, and participating in the resolution of any potential or actual patient safety issues. ?? Achieves high levels of patient satisfaction, employee engagement and volume/financial measures. ?? Perform similar and related duties as required. + Education: A master's degree or PhD in social work, nursing, public health or related field. + Licensure: RN, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PhD/or Graduate of an Accredited school of Healthcare Administration, Master's or more advanced program preferred. EXPERIENCE: + Seven to Ten years or more of progressive leadership experience in behavioral health services with a minimum of five years in a comparable position. + Experience working with physicians across multiple specialties and attaining/maintaining positive relationships and priorities. + Experience in advanced analytical analysis and reporting. + Be familiar with Joint Commission Standards, Federal, State and Local regulations and ensure that these standards and regulations are being appropriately applied in your department and functions. + Be familiar with includes, but not limited to OSHA, CMS, and market Departments of BH, SUD/ Addictions, Health Services and others. + Excellent communication skills, both oral and written across all levels of the organization. + Must possess the ability to communicate among all levels of staff in the organization, physicians, colleagues, patients. + Self-motivated, detailed-oriented, organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks. + Ability to deal with and/or supervise individuals with diverse goals and professional languages. + Ability to develop partnerships, high-functioning teams, and good working relationships across multiple departments + Physical requirements: standing, walking.
