Position SummaryPosition Summary and Special Duties

* Must be able to read and comprehend blueprints and technical data.

* Be able to move (push, pull, or otherwise manipulate) materials up to 75lbs. in and around steel racks and machine tools prior to machining and to stock materials in their proper locations.

* Assist in a variety of departmental operations and helper\'s duties including: making simple measurements, setting stops and utilizing power hack and band saws to cut bar stock; performing routine machine operations on milling machines, drill presses, lathes, grinders, CNC Machines, etc.

* Operate machine tools while standing for a period of ten to twelve hours and use hands to reach overhead to perform necessary functions.

* Monitor semi-production runs of machines and visually check dials and other process indicators.

* Provide assistance in minor set-ups and in feeding parts to be machined.

* Assist in maintaining Tool Room equipment in optimum working condition by periodically cleaning, oiling, and greasing machines.

* Receive and check incoming bar stock, coolants, degreaser fluids, etc.

* Pick-up or deliver parts from various vendors as required. Maintain work area in a clean and safe condition. Disassemble and clean all components of various mold tools.

* Organize cleaned mold details for toolmaker to inspect.

* Learn to identify damaged mold details from rejected production parts.

* Assist toolmaker in inspection of new and used details.

* Mark IDs on date code pins and mold details.

* Assist toolmaker in assembly of maintained molds.

* Operate tow motor when required.

Required Skills and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED.

Completion of applicable 1500 hour education requirement.
