The Senior Structural Estimator will:

Analyze and identify scope of work from existing conditions, plans, and specifications through all phases of document deliverables.

Develop construction cost estimates and prepare basis of estimate as required by the Estimating Manager in accordance with the program requirements.

Ensure all estimates are accurate and have considered all risk factors.

Participate in client or 3rd party reconciliations.

Assists Estimating Manager with reporting functions and assembly of project deliverables.

Seek additional useful data from various sources

Review designs and specifications for cost-effectiveness and suggest appropriate alternatives

Perform other duties and projects as needed

Job Requirements

A Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (e.g. Civil Engineering), Construction Management, or related

A minimum of 15 years of progressively-increasing responsibility in estimating within Heavy Civil/Marine/Railroad projects.

Experience with Alternative Delivery Methods

CMGC Estimating experience

Experience with Heavy Civil/Marine/Railroad/Movable Bridge Project Estimating, including:

* Quantity take-off preparation

* Labor Pricing using crew base and man-hours estimating methodology

* Developing and pricing of Contractor?s General Conditions

* Developing and Pricing of Contractor?s Indirect Costs

* Estimates - from conceptual to detailed

* Construction Equipment Pricing

* Material Pricing ? secure quotes

* Strong MS Excel skills

* HCSS Heavy Bid

* Timberline

* Scheduling

* Risk Management

Excellent communication and team-building skills

The ability to work well with others within a team-based matrix project/company environment

The ability to work well with client personnel

The ability to gain the acceptance and understanding of specialized aspects of estimating procedures

The ability to work in the United States immediately is required.
