Maintenance mechanics work under the direction of the Plant Manager.

Responsible for servicing equipment used throughout the plant.

Responsible for completing work orders, preventative maintenance programs as well as troubleshooting problems that arise without notice.

Involved in re-building projects and the installation of new machines and equipment.

Must be able to read and follow complex instructions and keep detailed records.

Requires a general knowledge of power press machines, plumbing, boilers, compressors, pumps.Frequent use of hand, power, bench tools and some welding. Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping. Must be able to lift as much as 50 pounds.

Maintain area and equipment in neat, clean and safe and orderly manner.

Job qualifications include:

* Experience with hand and power tools

* Electrical knowledge

* Ability to read and interpret instructions and blue prints

* Plumbing, boiler, compressor, knowledge and/or experience.

* Welding experience a plus

Essential functions of the position include:

* Complete work orders in an efficient and timely manner, while observing safety procedures and rules

* Service equipment per preventative maintenance schedule and work orders

* Troubleshoot problems with equipment and machinery as they arise

* Perform special re-build and installation projects

* Work overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice

* Complete paperwork and reports

* Attend and contribute to departmental meetings

* Other duties as required by management.

Training requirements of the position include:

* Safety Orientation (Hazcom, Emergency response, etc.)

* PPE use

* HAZMAT

* Confined space training

* Lock-out / tag-out

* Fork lift operation

* Electrical hazards

* Fire Extinguisher operation

* Ergonomics

* Plumbing, boilers, compressors and pumps.SDL2017
