* The MSA Quality Engineer supports the semiconductor Cu and wafer level packaging processes and products. The MSA Quality Engineer will manage all facets of the MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis) program including performance, as well as manage the CS (customer service) testing program. The position direct reports to the Quality Director and dotted-line reports to both the Quality Assurance and Quality Control Managers. The position is responsible for identifying and improving product and process quality through process analysis, chemical analysis, manufacturing capability studies and statistical process studies. The position works directly with engineering on the stewardship and execution of Early Alert, FMEA, CpK, MSA, NCMR investigations, OCAP investigations, continuous improvement and process audit programs. This position will be based in West Haven, Connecticut.



* Establish Measurement System Analysis (MSA), tolerance and GD&T reviews, FMEA, control plans and DOE. Assure that our product conforms to internal and external requirements via Product and Process Validation using IQ/OQ/PQ. (Gage resolution, gage stability, bias and linearity and Gage R&R.)

* Collect, analyze and prepare reports for measurement and test data on new, transfer, and sample run parts. Initiate, recommend or provide solutions to non-compliances associated with product and/or processes through designated channels.

* Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.

* Direct interface, coordination and interaction with CQEs and/or customer on an ongoing basis to collect and implement customer MSA requirements, specifically in relation to subject matter pertinent to customer audits.

* Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.

* Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.

* Directs operators engaged in MSA studies as well as the measuring and testing of product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.

* Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on MSA activities

* Prepare monthly reports and conduct statistical analysis on assigned projects or as per quality metrics. Perform process capability analysis, which include statistical techniques (Cpk, DOE, Hypotheses Testing, etc).

* Follows written analytical procedures and methods for testing of in-process, finished and customer product samples including Plating tests, Volumetric and Gravimetric analysis, Instrumental analysis, etc.

* Collects and enters data into WinLIMS data management system to review and validate results of sample data. Performs calculations associated for the test results.

* Communicates status of testing samples to Production Supervisors and Chemical Operators.

* Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.

* Establishes schedule for CS (customer service) sampling and prioritization list while coordinating with QC Manager

* Perform the measurement of CS samples, record results and approve/reject

* Troubleshoots and makes recommendations concerning MSA results, product quality and CS samples when results do not meet predetermined acceptance criteria.

* Stores hazardous materials in the proper locations and dispose of hazardous waste properly.

* Works with Quality Assurance personnel to investigate any product quality issues.

* Uses and promotes the Six Sigma methodology.

* Administer and support Customer and Supplier PPAP processes and participate in Advance Product Quality Planning development for new product launches and existing production.

* Support Company change management process. Participate on teams and assist with action as required.

* Develop and administer reliability analysis to support predictive quality planning and product validation testing methods and results.

* Attend required HSE training including Hazardous Waste Management, emergency response, and Hazard Communication, and demonstrate an acceptable level of understanding of topics.

* Maintains housekeeping standards in lab work areas; promotes and practices 5S on a daily basis.

* Follows all safety procedures including general site safety rules and Chemical Hygiene Plan



Preferred candidates will possess:

* 5+ years of experience in a quality assurance.

* Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Quality Engineering or Chemistry with three or more years of related experience.

* Proven track record of MSA project management

* Experience in the semiconductor industry is highly desired.

* Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).

* Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Gage R&R experience, both managing and supporting

* Lean Six Sigma Methodology

* Working knowledge of ISO9001/TS16949

* Internal audit experience

* Chemical Laboratory experience

* Knowledge/experience in bench chemistry/manual titratiors. Instrument s- ICP-OES, ICP-MS, HPLC/IC, Autotitrators and CVS

* Inspection and gaging techniques.

* Thorough understanding of AIAG manuals for Statistical Process Control (SPC), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP).

* Strong problem-solving and prevention methods (8D, FMEA, 5why) skills.

* Strong understanding of product reliability analysis and methodology.

* Strong knowledge of Microsoft office, Lotus Notes, JD Edwards ERP, Minitab SPC are preferred.

* Ability to travel up to 20% may be required
