Prepares preliminary worksheets. Heavy computer use.EEO/AA/Disability/VeteranResponsibilities

* 1. Conducts respective M-mode, two dimensional, and Doppler echocardiograms or exercise stress tests on patients of all ages. Shows expertise on all procedures done. Checks patient reactions during particular test, proctors Non HVC nursing staff in proper techniques.

* 2. Participates in the instruction of echocardiograms and stress tests to students and physicians. Attends and participates in conferences to further his/her own professional development.

* 3. Maintains a professional and positive attitude with a focus on patient centered care.

* 4. Performs various functions within the department to assist support services and ensure efficient patient through put. This includes the abilty to schedule, order transport and other non clinical functions as needed.

* 5. Works independently to perform self-study and/or special assignments such as participating in research projects.

* 6. Analyzes and records test results. Measures echo data on a quantification system. Detects and corrects errors.

* 7. Accurately modifies exam codes to reflect the appropiate procedure performed.

* 8. Working knowledge of CVIS PAC's which will include database and image managment to faclitate physician interpretation.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Graduate of certified school or equivalent training. R.D.C.S./CCI certificate required. Maintains American Registry Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography/ CCI status. Computer skills.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 3 years experience perfered

LICENSURE

Maintains registry in American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonography/CCI. Competence in caring for all patients treated at the Hospital regardless of age, disability, sexual preference, gender or ethnicity.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Proficient in routine Ultrasound imaging techniques, with above average knowledge of computer skills. Excellent customer service skills.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

This position requires good health and physical conditioning to provide high quality patient care 8hrs/day, 5 days/week. Daily work includes, pushing heavy imaging equipment to patient rooms, extended periods of walking and standing, and lifting/positioning/transport of patients. Project work includes lifting/storing medical supplies, lifting/installing computer equipment, and prolonged computer use.
