The primary functions of the Physican Assistant will be to provide comprehensive care to the patients and consultation service to the patients direct care team under the supervision of the Attendings., and as directed by established protocols. In collaboration with the Health care team, the Physician Assistant will provide continuity of care to patients in the inpatient and outpatient settings to achieve optimal patient outcomes and patient satisfaction.

  • 1. Clinical Practice:
    • 1.1 Assumes primary patient care responsibility for patients in the fatty liver program under the supervision of the Attendings.
  • 2. Multidisciplinary Collaboration
    • 2.1 Works collaboratively with co-workers and other health care professional members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure a high standard of patient care and efficient operations.
  • 3. Education:
    • 3.1 Identifies learning needs of team members, patients and families. Provides bedside teaching and supervision of procedures.
  • 4. Research:
    • 4.1 May support the research mission through collaboration with investigators and protocol personnel.
  • 5. Quality Improvement
    • 5.1 Participates in data collection related to clinical and operational efficiencies
EDUCATION

Master's Degree as a Physcian's Assistant (PA) required.

EXPERIENCE

At least 2 years experience as a PA in related medical care, or weight loss.

LICENSURE

Licensed Physician's Assistant in the State of CT (or eligible)

SPECIAL SKILLS

Excellent basic knowledge with clinical skills and judgment. Possess analytical skills to evaluate care needs, ability to gather relevant clinical date, perform through physical examinations, and possess excellent interpersonal skills, communication and leadership activities and exhibit good judgment and tact dealing with patients, families, and allied health professionals. Computer skills preferred.
