**Job Title: Technician Chemistry**

**Location: New Haven, Connecticut**

# Job Description

Volt is looking for Chemistry technicians in New Haven Connecticut. Our client needs people who are looking to join the food science industry for a top Fortune 500 company.

# KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Prepares samples and standards for Gas Chromatography (GC) and GC-MS analysis according to procedures

+ Collects data using advanced instrumentation: GC and GC-MS

+ Performs data analysis under the direction of a chemist

+ Compiles and records experiments in laboratory notebooks

+ Follows all laboratory safety practices

+ Follows directions and collaborates with laboratory staff

+ Follow all laboratory safety procedures.

+ Maintain all confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements regarding scientific research

# PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

+ BA/Master Degree in chemistry, biochemistry, food science or similar, relevant scientific field

+ 2+ years of proven record of experience (academic or industry) in a laboratory setting in research and/or industry will also be considered

+ Experience with GC-MS, GC, and other analytical instruments and isolation techniques is a plus

+ Ability to use common laboratory equipment apparatus: analytical balances, pipets, syringes, volumetric flasks

+ Knowledge of basic lab safety practices

+ Working chemical expertise (chemical handling, dilutions, etc.)

+ Operational skill of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook.
