Set Up Technician - 3rd shift

PTA Corporation, a plastic injection molder and tool builder, is an "entrepreneurial" manufacturer whose customers are leaders in the medical device, defense, homeland security and technology industries including Fortune 500 OEMs. Business has started to grow dramatically. And we are currently looking for *Set Up Technicians* to join our team on 3rd shift.
Working in our clean, air conditioned facility; the ideal candidate will be responsible for timely change over on state of the art, horizontal molding machines ranging from 45 ton - 610 ton. He/she should have at least 5-7 years of technical experience in set up and trouble shooting injection machines.
?? Set up machines, molds and ancillary equipment to achieve optimum efficiency
?? Ability to troubleshoot engineering thermoplastic materials.
?? Ability to perform basic machine maintenance.
?? Pull and set molds in preparation for production runs and samples
?? Set up new tools and help establish and document optimum process
?? Ability to communicate information to the operators.
?? Work closely with Production and Tooling Supervisors, Maintenance and QC to continuously improve process, tooling and safety
?? Work with full servo (Wittman and Yushin) robotics
?? Ability to utilize information from the process sheets.
?? Ability to perform finishing operations at the press.
?? Ability to detect and diagnose surface defects of product, such as cracks, splay, sink, drag lines, blemishes, color variations, etc.
?? Ability to sample new tools and communicate with Engineering, Tooling, and Quality personnel to assure objectives are met.
?? Available to work overtime and weekends as needed.
?? Ability to document (Job Book) all processes related to the molding of a part that is repeatable and understandable.
?? Able to lift 75 pounds
?? Minimum 5-7 years' experience in a plastics manufacturing area.
?? Able to use hand tools.
?? Ability to understand and follow work instructions, both verbal and written.
