Position SummaryPlan and control all planning and scheduling activities supporting assigned brands. Balance production and inventory levels with demand to support target consistent with customer service levels, inventory turn goals, and capacity utilization/staffing requirements.

Plan production of promotional and sampling items to meet promotion availability requirements.

Develop feasible, 24-month master production schedules for finished goods and component items. Determine resulting requirements for raw materials, purchased parts and packaging supplies.

Lead efforts to upgrade new ERP system, and conduct training programs for other members of department


The essential functions include, but are not limited to:

1. Develop valid, feasible production schedules for finished goods and component items in accordance with MRPII Class A policies and procedures.

2. Supply requirements for raw materials, purchased parts, and packaging supplies via MPS to the Supplier schedulers

3. Interact frequently with sales, marketing and manufacturing personnel to balance supply and demand.

4. Present 24-month demand, production and inventory summaries for review by the Supply Manager at monthly S&OP meetings.

5. Publish and perform root cause analyses on key metrics including Customer Service Level, Inventory Turns, Actual vs. Scheduled Productions and Master Schedule Stability.

6. Coordinate supply of finished goods, assembled components and parts to International affiliates. Schedule requirements using Manugistics Sales Order and Demand Maintenance functions.

7.Correspond with International affiliates concerning requirements and any capacity constraints.

8. Achieve target customer service levels and inventory turn levels based on forecast error and bias trends, manufacturing capacity, customer service and inventory turn goals.

9. Review weekly sales forecasts provided by Marketing. Monitor daily feed of sales forecasts to DRP system.

10. Use Rough Cut Capacity Planning to determine if production will be constrained in future periods and identify potential corrective actions such as: working overtime, adding equipment, outsourcing or expediting.

11. As necessary, exercise project leadership for new ERP systems, in both selection and implementation processes.

12. Review Program Authorization Requests, Promotion Authorizations and Production Decisions to ensure that Logistics can support all program requirements, prior to signature by Supply Chain Manager.

13. Report actual versus scheduled production metrics weekly and ensure that 95% schedule compliance is achieved.

14. Supply requirements for raw materials, purchased parts and packaging supplies via MPS to the Supplier schedulers.

15. Present summary of key information at weekly Management Production meeting.

16. Advise Distribution Planner regarding production schedule adjustments and special distribution requirements.

17. Identify materials with no further use, prepare ATD\'s/DA\'s and instruct appropriate departments to dispose of materials on approved ATD\'s/DN\'s.

18. Coordinate production of assigned subcontractor(s) and movements of materials/product to/from this subcontractor(s).

Required Skills and Experience

* Bachelor's degree and 5+ years' production planning experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

* SAP and Manugistics experience preferred.

* APICS certification desirable

* High level of integrity, good analytical skills, attention to details
