The Cryogenic Engineering Technician works closely with the Field Service Manager to determine equipment needs and cost for new bulk cryogenic installations. The Cryogenic Engineering Technician works with Airgas Project Managers, outside engineering firms, customers, subcontractors, and vendors to develop a formal scope of work and project cost. This position will assist Project Managers with site surveys and development of concept drawings and system schematics as needed.

* Reviews projects with the Airgas Project Manager and determines equipment needs and cost.

* Assist Airgas Project Managers and Sales team with custom applications and works with Airgas vendors to determine the best equipment to fit the project

* Creates the final Scope of Work (SOW) for approved projects.

* Assists the Project Manager and Sales team with document submittals for proposed or approved projects.

* Creates site plans for bulk installations using CAD or Visio.

* Works with Airgas Project Managers to determine if equipment can fit safely in tight spaces.

* Serves as the liaison with the National Engineering team on complex projects.

* Works with outside Engineering resources to design custom cryogenic storage systems (i.e. concrete pads, firewalls, and piping)

* Ensures that new bulk installations will meet the requirements of NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), CGA (Compressed Gas Association), and ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers).

* Assists Field Service Technicians with technical questions ? researches questions with vendors to obtain answers.

* Works with existing or new customer to create and analyze failure analysis documents for cryogenic storage systems.

* Adheres to and ensures that safety policies, practices and procedures are followed.

Successful candidates will have:

* Associate's degree or trade school certificate in engineering, science or related technical field. In lieu of education requirement, may consider a demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Training or Certification in CAD or drafting preferred.

* Demonstrated prior experience with plumbing materials is a plus.

* Prior project coordination or assistance experience preferred.

* Prior experience using SAP strongly preferred.

* Strong organizational skills, including multi-tasking and time-management. Ability to set priorities and manage time in a dynamic work environment.

* Strong client-facing and teamwork skills.

* Excellent customer service & communication skills. Demonstrates a clear and effective speaking manner for the purpose of explaining information to customers and employees and strong customer service skills.

* Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

* Experience working with Visio or CAD for creating drawings and site plans.

* Knowledge of the following codes preferred: NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), CGA (Compressed Gas Association), and ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers

* Demonstrated ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent.

* Self-starter; self-motivated; operates with a sense of urgency; ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.

* Demonstrated dedication to product quality, customer satisfaction, and safety.

* Good problem solving and analytical skills.

* Ability to work well both as a team and independently.

* Detail-oriented.

* Employee may be required to remain stationary for extended periods of time.

* Employee may occasionally be required to transverse through office and/or manufacturing locations.

* Employee will frequently be required to actively listen and exchange information.

* Employee will be required to observe and assess information received via computer.

* Requires frequent use of computer and telephone.

* Occasional bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, feeling and repetitive motions.

* Flexible to work overtime as needed.

* Minimal travel required, 10%. Travel may include visits to upcoming or existing project sites, customer/contractor meetings, and occasional vendor visits.

* Work environment is mainly an office setting with minimal exposure to loud noises or temperature changes.

* Reliable transportation, current driver's license, minimum liability insurance as required by state of vehicle registration.
