The Manager, Fiber Construction is responsible for providing leadership to the market and participating in the design/engineering of new network infrastructure to complete customer contracts. Provide network routes and capital expenditure budget to the sales group. Work with the Engineering Department and NOC to facilitate maintenance issues and restoration of outages. Requirements are 5-10 years in telecommunication industry related to project design and Outside Plant Engineering and 2-5 years in a leadership role. Valid Driver's license required.

Job Responsibilities:

* Provide leadership and direction to the employees in the market.

* Design/Engineer new network infrastructure to complete customer contracts.

* Familiarity with local utilities and municipalities.

* Identify and assist in the management process of permits and licenses.

* Design/Engineer network rebuilds to include laterals and backbone infrastructure.

* Provide network routes and captial expenditure budget to the sales group.

* Work with Engineering Department and Network Operations Center to facilitate

Maintenance issues and restoration of outages.

* Coordinate with Sales dept to establish budget costs.

* Update CARS on a daily basis to ensure smooth project management.

* Oversee in-house and contract construction labor.

* Collect and verify as-builts.

* Manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications:

* 5 -10 years in telecommunication industry related to project design, Outside Plant Engineering.

* 2-5 years in a leadership role coaching employees and contracting crews .

* Field experience in construction, engineering, maintenance and management.

* Understand Optical Time Domain Reflectometer results.

* Understanding of splicing procedures

* Familiarity with equipment and equipment applications

* Valid Driver's license

Working Conditions/Physical Activity Requirements:

* Extensive driving to various customer sites

* Exposure to inclement weather conditions

* Office and computer work to complete correspondence

* Physical demands may include entry into areas under construction and require walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling

Technology/Software Requirements:

* Auto CAD (preferred)

* Microsoft Office
