ASSA ABLOY Guadalajara is part of the Access and Egress Hardware Group (AEHG) and supplies key components to the subgroup. In this critical role, the incumbent will ensure that products are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives. The General Manager maintains strong working relationships with the AEHG operating team.

Responsibilities associated with the General Manager portion include:

AAG Operations- Visit 1 week a month to review the following;

Establish manufacturing policies and practices in the areas of safety, lean techniques, materials management, capacity planning, production scheduling, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and plant performance measures.

Ensures compliance with Company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, environmental responsibility, inventory management, and Company employment policies / guidelines including the Code of Conduct.

Oversees operations budget to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements.

Recommends and implements strategic changes in business and operations strategy.

Builds, develops and manages operation leaders capable of carrying out needed operations strategies and improving employee relations.

Identifies and proactively raises organizational issues and trends; recommends alternatives for improved effectiveness.

Implements cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures and manpower.

Establishes and monitors operational performance through Gemba meetings and regular ?Pulse? meetings.

Assesses and builds leadership bench-strength and organizational capabilities as well as creates a collaborative high performance work environment.

Oversee design engineering projects from the Connecticut Engineering area.

Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate operational performance and improved working relationships.

Actively engages / communicates with all levels of the organization; drives efforts to promote employee engagement. Promotes and fosters a culture of collaboration, cooperation and communication.

Work with other ASSA ABLOY companies for manufacturing projects for insourcing to AAG to generate savings to those companies.

Breakdown AAG cost savings information to give credit to each AEHG company to roll up in their cost tracker.

Develop yearly pricing for the ASSA ABLOY group companies.

Responsibilities associated with Sustainability include:

Responsible for quarterly reporting, reviewing and communicating with each facility in the Americas for questions, accuracy and releasing the data to Corporate.

Generate consolidated reports for America?s presentation on each major measure to the Global Sustainability Council quarterly.

Give updates as to major improvements being made and how to achieve targets for 2020.

Meet twice a year face to face with the Global Sustainability council.

Oversee the America?s Sustainability Council. Communicate improvements/ideas across the America?s Sustainability council for all to learn and improve their situation.

Responsibilities related to cost initiatives include:

Hold monthly meetings with each Hardware brand to review each project in detail for status updates and adding any new projects that arise.

Walk the manufacturing plant floor looking for opportunities for potential savings projects/transfer projects to AAG and give input to the site GMs.

Consolidate the group?s cost tracker, Investment tracker and group?s summary tracker each month

Monthly review each project with design engineering teams for status updates on each of their projects. Transfer that Information to the cost tracker.

Job Requirements:

Requirements / Education

Minimum of a bachelor?s degree in Business or Engineering.

10+ Years of hands-on operations experience in a manufacturing environment managing technical and hourly resources.

Experience in Product Management, New Product Development, and Product Pricing.

Must be self-directed, well organized and have good follow-up skills.

Strong record of continuous improvement success including demonstrated experience using Kaizen, cellular manufacturing, one-piece flow, 5-S, standard work, visual management, kanban and process linking methodologies.

Experience in metal fabrication, finishing, packaging, and shipping.

Supply chain management experience.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Strong leadership capabilities and interpersonal skills.

Solid PC skills including proficiency in MS Office applications.

Some knowledge of plating, anodizing and waste treatment, including familiarity with state and U.S. federal environmental laws and standards.

Strong ERP experience a plus.
