JOB SUMMARY

Purchases materials, supplies and equipment from approved vendors. Conducts analyses of quality, cost, service and other factors in order to recommend vendors. Maintains regular contact with vendors and Hospital department personnel in order to resolve discrepancies and identify purchasing needs. Reviews literature of product developments, maintains department?al records, orders needed supplies and materials, verifies deliveries and performs other duties as assigned. Position may require working at either campus or alternate sites associated with the Saint Francis Care system.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

* Education: Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of one year purchasing experience required.

* Experience: Advanced communication and negotiation skills are required in order to influence and persuade others to viewpoint. Interacts effectively with others in order to provide a high level of customer service and resolve any conflicts.

* Licensure: None

* Certification: Certified Materials & Resource Professional certification preferred.

* Job Skills: A moderate level of analytical ability is required. Work is performed in accordance with standard procedures but does require basic technical knowledge or in-depth, experience based knowledge in order to analyze and interpret information. Oral and written communication skills. Proven interpersonal skills. Mathematical ability. Background in inventory control is helpful. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (excel, word) is required. SDL2017
