Salary range: $30,000 up to $40,000 with bonus incentive

Job Description

The operations manager is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day franchise activities to meet established operating goals, standards, sales and profits. This is accomplished primarily through: training and motivating franchise employees; controlling costs; managing daily franchise operations; and consistently exceeding customer expectations. The operations manager will work closely with the other managers to ensure the franchise is consistently operating in compliance with the franchise agreement, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK? system standards, and applicable laws and regulations. The operations manager should have general knowledge of functional support areas, including our core business, Human Resources, Training, and Marketing.

Job Responsibilities

* Promotes and protects the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK? brand

* Reviews financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement

* Assists the HR Manager with the interviewing, hiring and training of new employees, or oversees these processes

* Responsible for employee accountability and adherence to franchise and system standards and policies

* Directs employee scheduling and dispatch of movers and drivers

* Responsible for employee development and corrective action programs

* Assists with workers compensation and unemployment claims

* Coordinates and directs the fleet maintenance and equipment inventory programs

* Ensures compliance with all DOT regulations and FMCSA guidelines

* Handles customer concerns and assists the General Manager with the damage resolution process

* Designated Safety Leader or works with designated Safety Leader, managing all Safety Meetings, trainings, postings and compliances.

* Responsible for being one of a few "on-call" emergency contacts outside of normal business hours

* Participates in regular training and development programs offered through STICK MEN UNIVERSITY? to further the knowledge of the system

* Actively participates in community, industry or other relevant associations

* Participates in monthly TWO MEN AND A TRUCK? online webinars, assists with safety meetings, and works to meet monthly safety goals and complete the safety submission

Job Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree in business, management, or other related field is preferred

* A minimum of 3 years of business, management, or other relevant experience is required, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK? or moving industry experience is preferred

* Extensive knowledge of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK? system policies, procedures, and industry, or ability to quickly learn and implement these

* Ability to work as a mover or driver if necessary, actively going on moves will be part of the training process

* Excellent oral and written comprehension and communication skills

* Excellent organizational and time management skills

* Demonstrated ability to lead by example to motivate, develop, and direct people

* Ability to assess the performance of self, employees, and franchise to make improvements or take corrective action

* Strong decision making ability

* Understanding of and commitment to customer service and the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK? core values

* Ability to travel as needed and work in our Rocky Hill and New Haven locations.

* Must be proficient with the following Microsoft applications:

* Outlook

* Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and regular drug screens

Work is generally performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards; however, occasionally lifting of up to 100 pounds may be necessary. SDL2017
