Our Community Support Provider team members support people with developmental disabilities in their homes and in their communities throughout central and western CT. Job duties typically this consists of coaching daily living skills, supporting people
with behavioral or physical challenges, and fostering increased independence. All of this is achieved while accompanying people as they pursue their normal daily activities. This might include everyday activities like spending time at home, cooking dinner,
talking with friends, shopping, going to the movies, attending medical appointments and all of the other daily living activities that most people engage in. We have rewarding jobs and fast-track career opportunities that offer paid training, good pay and benefits,
and the satisfaction of knowing your work really matters. Available shifts include weekdays and/or weekends, part time or full time, 2nd or 3rd (awake).

During the overnight hours, the Overnight Support Provider is responsible for making periodic checks of the individuals, performing housekeeping duties, and completing some administrative tasks (filing).

During the hours the individual is awake, the Overnight Support Provider will perform many of the same duties as the Community Support Provider.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Must possess a driving record that is acceptable by the agency's insurance company.
  • Must have valid liability insurance on personal vehicle that may be used in emergencies while at work.
  • Must be able to pass rigorous criminal background check and abuse registry checks.
  • Some education, training, and/or experience in providing community supports to people with developmental disabilities, or in a related human service area, is preferred.
  • Community Support Coordinators must have all of the following qualities: the ability to act as a role model for other staff, a sincere desire to provide individualized supports to individuals with developmental challenges; the ability to make sound judgments
    when given guidance and priorities; the ability to work as a team member to maintain consistency and quality in programming; the ability to communicate effectively with other staff members; and when individuals with disabilities require it, the physical ability
    to lift/transfer those individuals.
