Job Title: Production Manager

Reports To: Plant Manager

Location: Naugatuck, CT

Summary: Manage the daily production operations, coordinate and prioritize the manufacturing aspects of the plant, employee scheduling, and safety of all production personnel.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities: (Other duties may be assigned)

Pumping: Timely & Accurately fills high pressure cylinders:

* Fills cylinders accurately utilizing pressure/temperature/weight charts.

* Ensures cylinders are accurately pre-filled in accordance with pre-fill inspection policies and procedures.

* Maintains a safe work environment by utilizing forklift and other equipment to move pallets to designated areas.

* Ensures that safety regulations are adhered to.

* Accurately and consistently complete product control record.

Loader: Production and order preparation:

* Ensures proper capping and uncapping of cylinders.

* Fills propane cylinders accurately and timely.

* Loads, unloads, rolls and manipulates cylinders including repeatedly lifting 50 to 75 pounds.

* Operates forklift to move full and empty pallets to designated areas (aka swapping island).

* Maintains safety regulations (ex conducts daily forklift checks).

* Updates and maintains proper labeling systems for warehouse and showroom.

* Assists with inventory, physical and cycle counts.

* Maintains a clean, neat and organized work area.

* Takes care of snow and water removal around work areas as needed

Loader: Loads and unloads vehicles safely, accurately, and timely:

* Loads and unloads trucks in a safe manner.

* Accurately loads route trucks based on picking tickets.

* Verifies pre-loaded vehicle inventory is correct and creates manifest prior to departure.

* Unload and return cylinders to designated areas based on product type and federal guidelines.

Managerial Duties - Achieves financial and operational success through business development in line with company strategic goals:

* Ensures branch goals coincide with the strategic objective of the company.

* Understands and manages expenses in line with the GL.

* Budgeting Sets goals to maximize margins and grow profitability.

* Budgeting- Manages expenses in line with the GL.

* Track and review data for accuracy and metrics relevant to their area of the business performance.

* Prepares and submits accurate and timely reports on Branch performance.

* Data Analysis and reporting Track and review data for accuracy and metrics relevant to their area of business performance.

* Equipment and facility maintenance ensures proper preventative maintenance and timely repairs.

* Engages vendors to ensure efficient and consistent service and products as required.

* Ensures that customers consistently receive courteous and quality service.

* Inventory and Stock Control Assist with RSI, cylinder dock inventory, cycle counts, and ordering supplies as needed.

People - Achieves department objectives through supporting employees in fulfilling the expectations of their role by effectively communicating and organizing work activities:

* Plans, implements and monitors KPIs.

* Create and maintain a daily task list.

* Formally documents internal safety and compliance audits (vehicle, facility, DOT, FDA, OSHA).

* Deliver appropriate training to employees.

* Associate Coaching Engage employees individually through regular communication and interaction with informal as well focused conversations to help them achieve their developmental goals.

* Next Level Training Ensure continuous improvement of associates through knowledge transfer and training to identify and prepare for high performer successors.

* Team Meeting - Weekly meeting conducted by the Manager to disseminate information on general business topics such as PSB, customers, safety (near misses), compliance, financial, and HR.

* Participate in regularly scheduled functional or departmental conference calls.

* Payroll payroll approvals, PTO requests, scheduling, and overtime analysis

* Work observation verification that safety and work procedures are being followed and make recommendations for function specific performance improvements.

* Performance Reviews Conducts bi-annual and annual reviews with employees fairly and in a timely manner.

* Excellent communication skills - phone and interpersonal

* Ability to work independently and under stress

* Ability to meet deadlines.

* Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to shift gears frequently.


* Education: High school diploma required, Bachelor's degree in business preferred.

* License/Registrations/Certifications: N/A

* Experience: 5-10 years experience preferred.

* Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly lift and maneuver 50-75 lbs.
