We are currently searching for a Lead Network Security Engineer to join our growing team.

This position can sit in Orange, CT OR Rochester, NY. Relocation Assistance is Available.


You will serve as senior technical advisor responsible for implementing enterprise network security solutions using current and emerging technologies. You will lead the engineering, installation, maintenance and administration of all technical aspects of corporate network security including software and hardware. You will also be responsible for translating business requirements into secure network solutions or process designs.


  • Represents IOC Network Security in projects; gathers business requirements and architects / designs new network solutions to meet business needs, global standards and network & security design standards.

  • Interacts with global counterpart to reach agreement on solutions.

  • Manages relationship with outsourced vendors and coordinates the execution of the design plan.

  • Ensures that all aspects of the architecture are executed to plan.

  • Consistently reviews performance of existing infrastructure; plans and executes lifecycle upgrades as required to meet/exceed existing SLAs.

  • Plans, coordinates, communicates and executes upgrades, leading cross functional teams as required.

  • Analyzes current state and proposed network related infrastructure and conducts risks assessments based on impact and potential severity of a security related issue.

  • Provides guidance and counsel to development groups within the Company to implement secure technical solutions for electronic commerce, EDI, web and other Internet and intranet projects.

  • Participates in cyber investigations; analyzes data/evidence to identify potential cyber incidents and vulnerabilities.

  • Conducts forensic research as required to assess impact to corporate information assets. Makes recommendations for corrective actions.

  • Represents IT in investigations with legal and law enforcement entities, as required.

  • Monitors all aspects of Internet and intranet security and ensures ongoing effectiveness.

  • Performs firewall administration, develops troubleshooting procedures and designs resolution scripts.

  • Identifies and evaluates new security products and technologies.

  • Acts as subject matter expert ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and represents Network Communication in internal and external audits.

  • Assigns and coordinates external Internet domain names and identifiers used in network communication and assures their uniqueness.

  • Owns resolution of all network security infrastructure related break/fix issues.

  • Accurately interprets symptoms, identifies root cause and takes appropriate corrective action to resolve.


  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience required.

  • 5+ years network/systems engineering experience, including work experience as a network security administrator.

  • Proficient in the design, configuration and implementation of internet firewalls, gateways, VPN concentrators, internet perimeter devices, complex routed and switched network architectures - TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, DHCP, LDAP, WINS, and Unix.

  • Knowledge in the design and maintenance of the network architecture to support distributed processing client/server topologies.

  • Able to work effectively in cross- functional groups.

  • Project management skills.
