The Facilities Tech III performs a variety of Building and Mechanical tasks for maintaining and improving facilities assets and associated support equipment used in maintaining buildings and building systems at the site.

The Facilities Tech III performs skilled trade work such as mechanical, piping, electrical, power generating systems troubleshooting and repair.

The exercise of discriminating judgments in the use of hazardous materials and equipment as well as extremely hazardous electrical, mechanical and chemical processes and the understanding of the effects of mistakes or errors on other employees, the community, the environment or themselves. The Tech III is responsible for maintaining quality expectations, continuous improvement, along with compliance to safety policies and procedures.



* Inspects, repairs and/or replaces building support equipment, using mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and building technologies

* Assists in troubleshooting equipment failures and repairs or modifies equipment to improve performance

* Assists other technicians as directed

* Works from prints and sketches to assist in layout work, parts fabrication and assembly for in-house designed equipment, and works to specifications

* Carries out preventive and predictive maintenance per established schedules

* Move equipment or furniture as needed

* Inspects and maintains tools and special equipment; assists in purchasing replacement parts

* Uses hand tools, power tools, precision shop, test equipment and instruments to help ensure continuous production operations

* Observes safety practices, good maintenance procedures, good housekeeping practices as well as GMP in work areas at all times



* Must have a High School Diploma or its equivalent

* Must able to complete Reliability certification program

* Operate, maintain, trouble shoot and repair power generation such as boilers, co-generation equipment, generators and alike.

* Must be able to obtain a Medtronic PIT operator's license.

* Must be able to read and understand routine instructions along with the ability to perform the four basic mathematical functions rapidly and accurately

* Must be capable of working without direct supervision and with minimal errors.

* A thorough understanding of mechanical principles, industry maintenance practices and computer skills are required.

* Detail oriented, established learner, able to retain and apply routine technical information

* Ability to follow departmental and safety procedures

* Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, in the English language

* Ability to lift considerable weight on an occasional basis

* Ability to safely use maintenance hand, power and shop tools and special equipment as required.

* Other duties as assigned.



YEARS OF EXPERIENCE Minimum of Five (5) years of similar process and building maintenance experience.

* Reading and Mathematical Skills ?? Ability to read, understand and act upon complex process instructions which includes using the four basic mathematical functions (additions, subtraction, multiplication and division) rapidly and accurately.
