Employer Healthcare Support Services joins together three healthcare services leaders - HHA Services, Healthcare Parking Systems of America (HPSA) and Employer Health to provide each of the services needed to support our healthcare clients' entire ecosystems-from hospitals to ambulatory surgical centers and medical office buildings. Services provided include clinical engineering & healthcare technologies, environmental services, facility management, food service, hospitality, parking, patient observation & transportation, and security.
Responsible for assisting the Director of Environmental Services in giving direction, motivation and guidance to the Environmental Services Department staff to accomplish established standards to meet or exceed customer satisfaction. Position represents Employer Healthcare Support Services in its highest degree.
Coordinates and supervises the activities of the Environmental Services associates to ensure continuous operation and timely delivery of services.Establishes priorities, assigns work, and monitors performance, quality and timeliness.Assigns and reassigns work based on workload and daily priorities.
Implements established department procedures and programs that meet goals and ensures a clean and safe environment.
Conducts quality improvement inspections within assigned areas of responsibility to ensure quality and satisfaction levels are meeting and/or exceeding expectations.
Ensures that all Employer Healthcare Support Services Systems are in place in accordance with the Director of EVS.
Gives supervision, motivation and guidance to the Environmental Services Department to accomplish established standards to meet or exceed customer satisfaction.
Functions as a resource to staff and hospital team members.
Leads the department in the absence of the Director of Environmental Services, Assistant Director of EVS, or Manager of EVS.
Responds to emergencies at both night time and on weekends as required.
Reports all pertinent data to the Director of Environmental Services in a timely manner.
Communicates clearly and effectively with direct reports, the hospital team, the immediate supervisor, and interdepartmentally.
Demonstrates effective oral communication skills in the following:active listening, assertiveness, providing feedback/coaching, team building, and conflict management.
Demonstrates effective written communication skills in written reports.
Attends administrative meetings and participates in assignments as requested.
Monitors associates schedules and work hours to ensure minimal use of overtime.
Orders and uses all supplies/equipment within the areas of assigned responsibility.
Assesses and utilizes appropriate data in order to improve operations.
Views everything with a process improvement mindset.
Supports the implementation and administration of HSS Patient Experience Program.
Promotes a customer service mindset at all times to both internal and external customers.
Responds to all requests from customers with a can do attitude. Follows up on requests with a sense of urgency.
Supports TQM/Customer Services Initiatives.
Demonstrates commitment to achieving patient satisfaction and employee engagement targets for the organization and department(s).
Practices and promotes the customer skills as provided through on-going training and in-services, including customer retention and service recovery.
Assists with the recruitment, hiring, training, development, performance evaluation and management of employees within assigned departments.
Ensures department Training Programs and recertification programs are being conducted within appropriate timeframes.
Develops/coaches associates to ensure fullest potential is reached.
Monitors work assignments and schedules to meet department and facility needs to maintain quality standards.
Knows all procedures, union agreements, or employee personnel manuals and meets all regulatory agency requirements.
Maintains current knowledge of grievance and disciplinary procedures.Communicates effectively and maintains competent coaching and counseling skills during performance review and employee discipline process.
Demonstrates knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations and safety policies/procedures.
Ensures department compliance with all regulations and policies.
May participate in hospital and/or Employer safety committees.
High School diploma or GED
Must possess a minimum of 1 year management experience in a service related field
Housekeeping supervisory experience in a hospital health system or large, academic medical center or hospitality.
Supervisor experience in healthcare support services.
