Temp-to-hire Salary:?????????????????????? $15 per hour (increases to $17/hr after 3 mos)Position Number:?? 9333?SUMMARY:Our Client is a subsidiary of a major international company handling petroleum, petrochemicals, biofuels, coal, and more. They have asked Hallmark to help them find a Material Planner for their plant near New Haven, CT. This is a 24/7/365 industrial plant environment.??This is a newly created role, reporting to the Manager of Production, Quality Control, & Logistics. The person in the Material Planner position will be responsible for coordinating all inbound and outbound material, and tracking inventory. This position also supports the on-call rotation as needed.This is a temp-to-hire role, transitioning to regular staff after 3 months.?RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist with Manger of Production, Quality Control, & Logistics to establish daily logistics schedule and ensures the daily schedule is distributed to receipts on time.Monitor the progress of the logistics team to ensure daily logistics activities are completed in a timely manner and that the daily schedule for loading/unloading trucks, railcars, barges, and tanks is met.Collect shipment information of feedstock, product, chemicals, and byproduct.Monitor holding tank inventory and inform Manager of Production, Quality Control, & Logistics of inventory.Communicate with suppliers, carriers, terminals and other teams to gather information: ETAs, issues, cancelations, etc.Ensure all carriers have Certificates of Insurance and Worker?s Compensation for New Haven Terminal (NHT).Coordinate with NHT throughout the day via email, radio, and phoneCollect and scan the NHT custody transfer reports.Request daily and weekend overtime from NHT after receiving approval from Manager of Production, Quality Control, & Logistics.Receive all incoming chemical shipments from various carriers.Make sure all documentation of incoming and outgoing products is completed and communicated to the appropriate people timely.Work in the field to complete daily logistics activities.Work with logistics technicians to complete inspection rounds to check logistics equipment and tank farms for malfunctions, defects, leaks, and hazards.Complete work requests to address abnormal conditions.Work with logistics team members to perform housekeeping and maintenance, which is limited to equipment cleaning, inspection, lubrication and filling oil reservoirs.?EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: High School diploma or GED is requiredAt least 6 months of experience in a material handling / logistics role in a manufacturing environment, including experience directing trucks, scheduling trucks, and optimizing logistics activities and schedules.Must be able to distinguish colorsBasic computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)Strong work ethicGood understanding of EPA, DOT, OSHA, and state regulations commonly associated with a biodiesel or manufacturing facility is a plusGood written and verbal English communication skillsMust have a valid driver's license and a TWIC card (TWIC can be obtained after employment)Employees must successfully pass an initial drug test and comply with company drug testing program (random, for cause, and post-accident)Must pass pulmonary testing and remain clean shaven at all times, to wear respirator when job requires, or in case of emergency?PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to tolerate extended periods of physical effort.Must be able to stand on concrete floors for extended lengths of time.Will often work outside, in various climates, and possibly harsh conditions.Frequent climbing (up to 65ft), kneeling, stooping, and bending.Carrying, lifting, and/or moving up to 50lbs, unassisted.Carrying, lifting, and/or moving 100 to 250lbs, with assistance.Ability to maneuver of up to 600lbs with handcart or other device.?OTHER:To view other Hallmark jobs, please go to and our Client are Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employers.
