This position is located in our new 12 bed satellite unit, Connecticut Children's Waterbury, is located at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury and is staffed by physicians from our own Inpatient Management Team.

* The 147 bed (135 in Hartford and 12 in Waterbury) inpatient service is a general medical and surgical service, capable of supporting step-down level acuity with flexible nurse to patient ratios and sophisticated cardio-respiratory monitoring. The inpatient units at the Hartford campus of Connecticut Children's are located on MS 6, 7, and 8 and are supported by a broad range of pediatric subspecialties as well by services such as Child Life and the Family Support Program.

* All of the units at the Hartford campus are staffed 24/7 by on-site physicians in residency training with close oversight by attending faculty. The eighth floor provides specialized care for our hematology/oncology service, as well as for general pediatric inpatients. Each room is a single with its own shower/bath, providing the parent rooming-in capability. The Inpatient Management Team is available to admit and provide care to general pediatric patients whose community pediatricians do not admit to Connecticut Children's Medical Center. In addition, these faculty members provide consultative services for complex patients on both the medical and surgical services when needed.

The Medical/Hospital PA or APRN is accountable for delivering comprehensive, high quality inpatient care, according to standards of best practice for children from birth through young adulthood. This is a great opportunity as you will work closely with both Connecticut Children's Medical Center physicians in pediatrics and St Mary's Hospital neonatologists in the NICU.

* Attend high risk deliveries
