Newtown Savings Bank is seeking a self-motivated, team player to join our Loan Servicing Department as a Post Closer.
This position is responsible for performing post closing quality control reviews of all originated residential or consumer loans, under the supervision of the Post Closing Supervisor.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform post closing quality control reviews of all originated loans, including but not limited to residential mortgage loans and home equities, both service retained and service released, homeowner construction loans and consumer loans.
Review/cure post closing exceptions (both service retained and service released) on a weekly basis to ensure outstanding items are received and cleared according to department requirements.
Responsible for FHA UPMIP are processed within 10 days of closing.
Responsible for ensuring MI activations are processed at the time loan is post closed.
Responsible for timely delivery of executed Notes and trailing loan documents to secondary market investor (FNMA, FHLBB, FHLMC, M&T & CHFA) according to department guidelines.
Responsible for updating LOS to reflect incoming trailing documents including but not limited to, title policies, mortgage deeds and other recorded documents received. Provide weekly update to Post Closing Supervisor.
Responsible for tracking and approving attorneys based on department guidelines.
Prepare Attorney Reference letters upon request.
High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in bank compliance or mortgage post-closing.
Thorough knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations governing real estate lending transactions and compliance.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
