Director of Assessment Post University is seeking an energetic, collaborative, and
experienced leader for the position of Director of
Assessment. Reporting directly to the Provost, the Director
of Assessment provides leadership, consultation, and direction for
all student assessment activities and processes at the
University. The essential duties and responsibilities for
this position include: enhance and refine the University's
comprehensive assessment process to create an efficient and
effective system that makes use of current assessment
applications/technologies; promote the University's culture of
assessment through ongoing training, guidance, and coordination of
various assessment processes; and effectively analyze and report
assessment data to stakeholders internal and external to the
University.
Key Responsibilities:

Refine Current Comprehensive Assessment Process

Review of efficiency and effectiveness of current comprehensive
(internal and external) student assessment and survey processes:
identify and address assessment system or knowledge gaps; propose
and implement a systematized assessment process to create
efficiencies/automation in process, tracking, and reporting
Work with the faculty to simplify, automate, and reinvent the
highly manual Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) assessment process
through modifications to the current process and/or the use of a
recommended outcomes assessment application.
Ensure that results of the comprehensive assessment process
meet the expecations of all stakeholders, both internal (faculty,
leadership team, executive leadership team) and external (Regional
[NEASC], State [CT OHE] and National [USDE, ACBSP, CCNE,
NAEYC,etc.] accrediting and governmental agencies) to the
University.

Promote the University's Culture of Assessment

Create a culture of excitement and enthusiasm across the
University around student assessment data. Help stakeholders from
all departments recognize the importance and inherent value in
measuring the quality and effectiveness of the student experience
in and out of the classroom.
Provide engaging and upbeat consultation and professional
development to the University Senate, the faculty-led Outcomes
Committee, and the Deans' Council on effective academic program and
course assessment practices, including best practices related to
effective rubric design, selection of assessment artifact, and
impartial and effective evaluation processes in SLO
assessment.
Collaborate with School Deans to develop and execute annual
assessment review document for programs across all Schools
Develop and coordinate a comprehensive systematic process of
surveying students, inclusive of, but not limited to: end-of-course
surveys, RNL main campus and online student surveys, graduate
student exit survey, alumni survey. Collaborate with the Leadership
Team to ensure that all surveys provide actionable feedback, and
present the results, in person or in written report, as
appropriate, with departments across the University.
Collaborate with University community, as needed, to build new
assessments and surveys to meet strategic and department data needs
related to student data.

Analyze and Report Assessment Data

Coordinate the collection of assessment data and produce
reports required for internal decision making, planning and
improvement.
Provide Program Chairs (PC's)/faculty, Deans and the Leadership
Team with data and documentation to support the University's
program review and assessment process.
Support faculty with student learning outcomes assessment,
including facilitating the data collection, analysis, and reporting
of demonstrated outcomes.
Coordinate and assist with the preparation of all necessary
assessment material for Regional (NEASC) State (OHE) and National
(USDE, ACBSP, CCNE, NAEYC,etc.) accrediting and governmental
agencies.
Assist with the University Strategic Plan, related to the
Program review process, all assessments and relevant trends for
constant improvement.

Other duties as assigned by the Provost.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have a Master's degree in a
related field from a regionally accredited Institution of Higher
Education and demonstrated experience (5+ years) leading student
planning and assessment processes at a University, including:
assessment information management systems, student learning
outcomes assessments, Blackboard LMS, survey design, data analysis,
reporting software, and data interpretation. In addition,
he/she should have excellent written and verbal communications and
interpersonal skills; and the ability to be an enthusiastic and
inspiring member of a team environment that extends across all
Schools and Departments at the University. The successful
candidate will understand what it means to make it personal for our
students and for his/her colleagues in all his/her actions and
behaviors.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in
Experience teaching at the University level and familiarity with
Regional and National, and Association accreditation bodies.
Post University was established in 1890 and is
situated in Waterbury Connecticut, and has a beautiful New England
campus situated in a majestic setting. Post is a growing University
with online enrollments surpassing 9,000 and a Main Campus
enrollment of approximately 800+ students. Comprised of 3
Schools (The Malcolm Baldrige School of Business, the John P. Burke
School of Public Service and Education, and the School of Arts and
Sciences), the University currently has 6 graduate degree programs
and 20 undergraduate degree programs, along with numerous
certificate programs.
The University faculty is comprised of Scholarly Practitioners
that have advanced degrees along with 10 to 15 years of work
experience within their respective discipline. Academic
Affairs consists of a Provost, Assistant Provost, 3 Deans, 65 full
time Faculty and Directors, along with 650 Associate (Adjunct)
Faculty. The University is poised for growth with additional degree
programs, some of which are already under development.
