Food Service Director
Title of Supervisor - Executive Director
Aides in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the dietary department, its programs, and activities - including department policies, procedures, etc.
Responsible for the ordering of food, supplies, and equipment
Responsible for receipt, storage, preparation, and service of all food
Responsible for the creation of the weekly menus in conjunction with the registered dietician
Maintains a safe and sanitary kitchen area and equipment in compliance with applicable city and state standards.
Oversees meal service and dining room delivery of meals to residents
Hires, orients, supervises, disciplines, and evaluates all dietary employees
Develops and coordinates dietary work schedules and assignments
Meets with residents, their families, medical staff, other departments and/or executive director as needed
Presents a neat and professional manner
Must be reliable and punctual
Works with minimum supervision
Attends in-service and on-the-job training as directed
Understands and upholds Residents' Bill of Rights and holds all resident information confidential
Understands and implements the concept of team work
Qualifications and Experience
Must have a minimum of an Associates Degree in Food Service Management
A minimum of one-year managerial experience
A minimum of two years dietary experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or other related facility.
Ability to read, write and comprehend English
Ability to make independent decisions
Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, families, residents, and visitors
Must possess leadership qualities and the willingness to work harmoniously with/and supervise professional and non-professional personnel.
Must be able to observe, listen, and communicate effectively
Must be able to relate to and work with the elderly
